The worst part is that you end up adopting the cynical, cut-throat individualism by force.

As an American, I knew something was horribly wrong from the time I was a kid. As I got older, I inevitably came to adopt many of the worst aspects of American culture out of sheer survival - hyper-individualism, isolating myself to devote more time to work, not caring about or helping anyone without there being some transactional aspect to it.

This way of life is killing us.

On the other hand, at least it’s good for the economy 🫠
